    About Gauntlet...

The boat was original named Vanina and won the first Sardinian cup in 1978. It was part of the 1979 Italian Admirals Cup Team placing third. For 15 years it sailed in New Orleans under the name Gauntlet and then came to the Great Lakes in 1995. It races primarily on Lake Michigan where it has been Lake Michigan LMPHRF best on the lake five times since 1998. The best finish we have had in the Port Huron Race has been third. We won our class in the 2011 Chicago Mackinac. Our previous best was 2006 when we were had a second in class and and fifth overall. We were a member of the Lake Michigan team Championship team which represented the East shore of Lake Michigan where we have been on the winning team eight times, We also have eleven boat of the years for LMSRF Area IV which is the East shore of Lake Michigan.
