With just a few weeks until the start of the 102nd Bayview Mackinac Race, excitement is building! We are thrilled to welcome more than 200 boats to this year’s race.
As we move into the final stages of preparation, please take a few moments to ensure your boat record and registration are complete.
Competitor Action Items
To avoid delays during onsite registration, please confirm the following items are complete on bycmack.com:
Confirm Your State Registration
Please verify that your boat’s state registration is current and the MC number is accurately reflected in your boat record.
Complete Your Crew List
Skippers – Please make sure your boat entry has the correct number of crew sailing.
Important: Any crew member who has not completed their required waiver will prevent your boat from completing onsite registration.
If you have youth sailors aboard, please ensure the required youth waiver has been completed.
Complete Required Survey
Please verify that the required survey associated with your registration has been completed.
ORC Certificate Update
The Offshore Office at US Sailing continues to process ORC certificates as quickly as possible.
If you have been contacted directly by our team (Ali or Melissa), please follow the instructions they have provided.
If your application is currently in Customer Review, there are typically two steps required before your certificate can be finalized:
Approve your Test Certificate
Pay your ORC invoice
Please do not contact the ORC Office directly unless necessary, as additional inquiries slow certificate processing for everyone.
If you have questions specific to your Bayview Mackinac Race certificate, please contact our Technical Team at macktech@byc.com.
Please note that the Organizing Authority will import ORC certificates directly from the official ORC database as they become available. Owners no longer need to enter their ORC reference number into their boat record.
Sailing Instructions
The 2026 Sailing Instructions are expected to be posted next week, in advance of the July 1 publication deadline outlined in the Notice of Race.
Class Assignments
Once all ORC certificates have been received, divisions will be finalized and class assignments will be made. Starting times will follow shortly thereafter.
Virtual Skipper’s Packet
The Virtual Skipper’s Packet on the Bayview Mackinac Race website continues to grow with important race information.
Please check this section regularly, as new documents, updates, and competitor information will be added frequently leading up to Race Week.
Island Awards Party
The Island Awards Party will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at Mission Point Resort.
Skippers receive 2x’s number of crew in wristbands upon Skipper Check-In at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island.
Additional wristbands must be purchased through Mission Point Resort at this link.
Please note that pets are not permitted at the Island Awards Party.
Mackinac Island Dockage
Updated post-race dockage information will be available in the Virtual Skipper’s Packet. We encourage skippers to review these details before arriving on Mackinac Island to help ensure a smooth post-race experience.

We will be recognizing first-time Bayview Mackinac Race sailors this year with a photo at the start of the Awards Party on July 21st. Meet by the stage at 1130 hours to be included in the picture!
